Yoav Adler - In his capacity as the Director of the Research and Development Unit at the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in charge of the development of innovative algorithms and software which promote and advance diplomatic objectives via online digital channels. This is a new sub field of Digital Diplomacy, experts refer to as Code-based or Algorithmic Diplomacy - the harnessing of algorithms to influence the flow of country related narratives in the online matrix. It is a unique and novel position in the world of diplomacy - translating diplomatic objectives into code language.
Former positions include: Senior Advisor to the Mayor of Tel Aviv, Head of Innovation and Cyber-technologies at the Economic Department, Ministry of Foreign affairs, Head of Public Diplomacy and spokesperson, Embassy of Israel in Argentina.
Yoav Adler holds a BA in international relations and Far East studies, MA in political communication, Tel Aviv University. He is currently a research fellow at the Harry Truman Institute, Hebrew University and research group member at the Institute for national Security Studies, Tel Aviv University. His research focuses on new means of political propaganda, digital diplomacy and information operations.
